We are affirming all day in our heads, in all moments with our thoughts. Some are positive, some are negative, and our feelings about them are the water and nutrients that help them grow. Our internal affirmations are coming true in our external, physical realities whether we are aware of it or not, so why not brainwash ourselves back to our default? We were born to thrive, not just survive.
Click a book below to find affirmations to choose from regarding money & abundance, love, health, and confidence. Pick the ones that resonate most with you and your life. Write them down by hand and say them out loud as you go for better memory retention.
The more senses (touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing) we incorporate while reciting affirmations, the better we remember and retain. For example, if your affirmation is "I am a genius and I apply my wisdom.", you may think to visualize yourself doing something that you would do if you truly believed the affirmation, such as the moment an invention you created is recognized for an award, or the day your company receives viral worldwide recognition. Adding in smells, sounds, tastes, etc. will solidify the image in our subconscious mind and give more effective results toward seeing it in our external reality.
Also remember to place your affirmations in a spot where you will read them often. Repetition and practice is what retrains our brains successfully.
"Repetition and practice" may sound like a drag, but it doesn't have to be. Have fun with it!! It's important to have good feelings about the statements. Remember, we don't necessarily get what we think about, we get what we feel. We receive that which we are being. Embody these affirmations and use them in the present tense; feeling as if we do not have it in the present tense takes us further from our goals with that affirmation, so be sure you are feeling good about what you are saying.
After more reading and reciting of the affirmations you choose, if you're working on feeling good about them, they will start to feel natural and resonant with the person you want to be. This is how you know you're making progress.
There are two ways to judge your progress: by how you feel and by what shows up in your external reality.
If you recite "I am love" and you feel like this:
Then maybe go ahead and skip that one for now 😉 And choose some that feel a little more general, like this . . .
Your intuition is your best guide 🙂 Follow what feels good.
NOTE: There will come a time when reciting affirmations on a specific subject will do more harm than good. Affirmations are a way for us to get accustomed to the feeling of the reality we desire. This means, if you are reciting affirmations, and they feel good but you haven't observed direct results, you are focused on the lack of it and with that feeling, your desire will stay right where it is.
Try a different approach. Experiment with tweaking your affirmations to be a little more truthful, while still aiming for your desire. Maybe abandoning affirmations altogether is the way for you.
Bottom line: if affirmations don't feel good to you, STOP!
“Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be, and be here now.“
