Workaway Package Planner Playbook

This is the very document I wish I had when I started exchanging my talents and skills. I made plenty of mistakes and course-corrected, putting all my best insights into an organized package planner for you so that you can craft your own unique package.
In this PDF planner, you’ll have access to my complete guide with step-by-step instructions to clearly plan out your own work exchange package using your talents and skills as currency in order to travel the world, saving tons of money in the process.
What is workaway?
A spin-off of work exchange, workaway is trading your skills and talents in exchange for accommodation, food, tours, and/or products while traveling away from home. This means no money is exchanged, typically, unless otherwise agreed upon.
Money is great, but you don’t need as much as you may think while traveling; your talents and skills are a currency in themselves, one with which you can travel long-term or short-term. Not only have I had incredible experiences with work exchange, but I have also seen people of all walks of life from many different countries successfully put together their own package and travel the world this way-without sacrificing enjoyment.
What’s in the Workaway Package Planner Playbook?
I’ve included insights from my own work exchange experience and important questions to help you get clear on your package and how to structure it all. I made plentyyyyyyyyyyyyy of errors and streamlined the method, putting all my wisdom from good ol’ trial and error into this PDF for you, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did.
I’ve also included an example infographic at the end that I used to pitch & land workaway opportunities, so that you can steal my method and use it for your own work exchange.
With work exchange using this very method, without exchanging any money, I have been able to…
- meet amazing people & create lasting connections
- see some incredible parts of the planet
- develop my skills and talents and spark new ones
- find new passions in life
- give back to the community in which I traveled
- go on unique and unmatched tours, like repel down a waterfall, cruise through exotic jungle rivers full of mangroves, explore unique towns and ancient lesser-known landmarks with the unique perspectives of locals, make furniture with indigenous people, live on a chocolate farm full of cacao trees, navigated through a cave river system, tour a small family-owned Colombian coffee farm, and more…!
- travel to places I never thought I’d set foot in
- explore new destinations, cultures, mindsets, and languages on a more personal and local level
- make lifelong friends
- have experiences I never realized were even possible
- discover what I like and what I don’t like
…all while developing my skills and learning new ones along the way, using very little money if any AT ALL in the process.
In fact, I started this journey after getting robbed while abroad. I was in a foreign country with literally zero dollars or any type of foreign currency on me, with no way to get money sent to me in the small town in which I was. As I was waiting for a new debit card to be delivered, I chose to exchange my writing and art for a place to stay and eat, which kick-started my work exchange journey and opened a portal to a whole new way of living. It was a road I stumbled upon almost by accident and suddenly became a gift that just keeps on giving in my life.
So as you can see, work exchange is completely life-changing.
It taught me the true value of my skills and talents and the added freedom that exists when we take money out of the equation.
Travel itself is a powerful teacher, it’s why I am so passionate about it. And when you combine it with work exchange, the experiences you have feel like a dream come true… I know many others who have seen the same benefits in their own lives by using work exchange, allowing them to travel even if they don’t have the monetary resources, which is why I am so passionate about this topic.
I want everyone who desires to travel to have the means to do so, no matter what. That’s why I created this planner so that those with the travel itch can experience the joys of traveling even if they don’t exactly have the monetary means yet.
